I was contacted by a company for a Job opportunity for a different client. They said that they can do an H1B transfer for me if needed. I under went 3 rounds of interview and cleared all of them. There are 3 company's involved, which are
1)Company
2)they Loan me to their Vendor
3)their Vendor puts me on project to their client.
I confirmed them over an email that I will join the end client on 2-Sep-2014. I did not relieve offer/employment letter or signed any contract with company rep as of date. However, due to my personal reasons I informed them on 27-Aug that I will not be able to join them. I did not share H1B petition and other documents with them (Shared only current LCA and filled H1B questionnaire which had my personal details).
On 28-Aug their attorney sent me a letter asking me to join on 2-sep or face damages which I will have to pay and will take me more than next 10 years to pay. I did not respond to this email.
2-Sep I receive 2 letter from Attorney that I did not appear for the Job and I need to give them new dates else the company will have damages of $500,000+.
Both the letters are pretty threatening and they are not my employers as well.
I would like to know how to respond and contact of any Good Attorney in NY who can send a letter to them on my behalf.
