Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft I got caught sshoplifting at NEX

Im a civilian who got caught yesterday for shoplifting at navy exchange and was brought to the LP office and was asked to empty out my pockets. They took down my information name address and SSN. I was very cooperative and no cops were called. They took my photo and said i was banned from ever coming back but only signed a form of a civil recovery fee of $200 and said i will recieved it through mail then was returned back to my wife and kids less than 30min. I know it was wrong and i feel very dissapointed of myself especially in front of my children. Lesson learned. I just want to know if i will go to jail or court? Or what to expect and what should i do to prepare on whats coming after me. I know theres no good reason on shoplifting my daughters birthday was coming up and i shoplift because i needed money to pay those expenses but still no excuse ive done wrong. Please help me any information will be appreciated and thank you for your time

Generally if no police were called & you pay the civil demand, that will be the end of it.

I am a Retail Theft consultant and answer questions like yours daily. The retailer has NOTHING to gain by filing a criminal complaint if you pay Civil Demand an din some states a Retailer is not permitted to do both. So pay Civil Demand and consider yourself fortunate.

Thank you for replying. I just read in some cases that no cops were involved but still went to court even though they paid the civil demand. Just worried and dont want to go through anymore trouble.
