I'm 21 years old and an unemployed college student.
My father passed away in Jan. In his will he left the house to me and my twin. At the moment my mother and I are living in the house.
My mother and father were married for 11 years and have been divorced for over ten years. His insurance was left in my name. That money can take care of the house for maybe a year. My mother is getting widow benifits and working on getting his retirement money. She plans on using the money to help take care of the house taxes and bills.
I dont trust her for many reasons. I want to know if/when she moves out of the house, can the money, such as his retirement benifits go to me to help maintain the house? Do I have any legal rights to my father's benifits?
