i may be fired please help

i just want to say thanks in advance.

ok so here is the situation i will give all details so i can be better helped before i take the next step and talk to a lawyer.

about 2 months ago my boss hired a guy who was told during his interview that he ways hired because we ( the people in the section of the store) were lazy and too laid back and werent driving business. this is a mens shoes commission area and i am the selling specialist (top sales, supervisor, pretty much the money maker) if i slipped up with being the top salesmen i would lose my title and be an regular team member. the way we shaped our section was so it wasnt cut throat and we all got along and had very good friendships with each other.

well when he started that all changed it turned into exactly what we didnt want it to be. since we were all fair and this guy wasnt one thing led into another and he became a total shark. ive worked in situations like this and it wasnt new to me i knew how to still be top man. i got to the point where holds were being stolen and he was being shady and led to our first verbal altercation between us. this happen because he stole a sale of mine from a regular client while i was at the bathroom and i walked into the section and caught this ( he was at the register ringing up my sale under his name). i canceled the transaction on him and pulled him to the side to explain to him why he was wrong and that is like taking money out my pocket. he began to flip out and it got over board so i just ended it made a complaint to management and went on about the day.

after this further complaints about situations just like this called for us to have a "mens shoes meeting" in this meeting it was just to reform and we went in knowing this. but the guy took it as a roast on him it just made situations worse. in this meeting he came out and siad that my boss hired him for the reasons stated eariler the boss agreed. after this meeting came our 2nd run in he made a false complaint that after this meeting we all went out side (4 of us) and were standing next to his car. he said i wanted to fight him this was proven false by video since we were standing outside the customer door smoking where the ashtray was. the next day he told the members in my area that "if his car has one scratch on it that jaron and i are going to have problems and hes not going to like me too much" i made a complaint on this threat and nothing was done every one who herd him say this made statements also.

finally our 3rd run in that happened yesterday.

we were busy with the xmas crowd i and another member were ringing out sales on the only 2 registers in mens shoes when the phone rings. now rules are in a situation like that do no answer the phone when u are ringing some one out. so i looked around and seen him standing on the sales floor about 10ft away from the phone he was laughing loud with another member and i said "hey, ***** can you come answer the phone please" with a stern voice.
as i said that another guy came out the back room and picked it up we finished with out sales and i got the phone since it was for me. i was on the phone about 10 mins when i got off i went into the stock room with another member where this guy came storming in and said "BITCH what the fuck is wrong with you screaming my name like that your not my fucking father" since he caught me off guard i stepped back in defensive and said "back up dont fucking talk to me like that" by now every sales member is back there when he says "i was in the navy i will fuck you up dont you ever talk to me like that". and starts coming towards me i stood my ground and said "shut the fuck up and get out of here with this bullshit" he proceeded to say "if yall dont get him im going to fuck him up" and picked up the phone called security and a manager and told them if they didnt come fast he was going to fuck me up theres gonna be a fight.

( sorry for the explicit language)

now security comes grabs him takes him to the VP office then takes me to the head managers office and we write statements on what happen. now there were not including our statements a total of 7 statements an customer statement written all stating he was the aggressor and he came after me and i tried to drop it more then 3 times but he kept going. he and i both were sent home for this and i was told they had to investigate it and they would give me a call. now today a seasonal manager is telling people in my section(they are texting me) the details of the investigation and that im fired which i dont believe is public information to be telling any one with no right to know. by the way the seasonal manager is the the head managers next door neighbor.

if in fact i am fired do i have a case?

now i believed there is due to the defamation of character, retaliation, wrongful dismissal, my private information being leaked me telling the vp i was filing a complaint for him treatining me, and the fact that he is the spy so they dont say anything to him about any wrong doing i have at least 6 people that would state the same and who witness all the actions
 
A wrongful termination means that you were fired for a reason prohibited by law; in other words, that a specific law exists prohibiting the employer from firing you for the reason he did. It does not mean that you were fired unfairly, that you were fired for something you did not do, or that you were fired in violation of company policy.

The law does not prohibit employers from teling others that an employee has been fired, or why.

With all of this in mind, specifically what do you think the employer has done illegally?
