Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft i need advice asap

my brother had a relationship with this women for 10 months and they rented a house togther with her 2 kids.. my brother just ended the relationship and moved back home with my parents until he could get on his feet again but he let her and her kids live at the rental and paid her half of the rent. the women has in the past 3 weeks showed up to my brother's place of residence and was refushing to leave until they talked she was there for over 2 hours until he had to call her mother to come get her. she has been sending him emails,text messages, and calling him constantly.i talked to her and asked her if she could just cut all communication off with my brother and our family. she agreed to but then did contact him on and off this past week. he went to the house they rented to get his things and called the cops because the women changed the lock to the house with out telling the landlord or my brother. he got only 1 thing that belonged to him and then the cop left. he then went to the landlord and talked to a women that works there and went back to the house with her to show her that the key he has doesn't fit in the lock so she can make a note of it and he can prove to her that the women did actually change the locks on him and he just wanted to get off of the lease. then after he showed her he went back to work. then i talked to him and asked him to do me a favor later on in the day. during this time the ex called the cops and clamed that my brother went back to the house and attacked her after everything was said and done. so the cops came to my mothers house and arrested my brother and took him to jail. the women is the type that will do anything to get back at her ex's and she is very unstable. she has a big history of calling the police for domestic abuse against her ex's and she lies quite a bit. what should i do about this? what options do we have? if anyone could point me in the right direction i would very much appreciate it. thanks

oh and..

my brother has been charged with theft and aggravated assault and his bail is set at fifty thousand dollars. my parents are looking into local attorney's but i wanted to get a second opinion as to what to do at this point.
