My boyfriend and his friend were pulled over (under suspicious circumstances if you ask me) and an active meth lab was found in the vehicle. The vehicle does belong to my boyfriend and he was driving , but the lab was found under the passenger seat. Now my boyfriend is in jail waiting on his court date for initiation to manufacture meth and hos friend is not. Can someone explain to me under what circumstances the police would let his friend go and be charged with nothing but a seatbelt violation.

The driver of the car is considered responsible for what is in the car and what is going on in the car.

The friend may ave bonded out, or ratted someone out, or was a snitch helping catch METH MANUFACTURERS.

Mobile METH LABS are time bombs.

Glad the cops took these creeps and dealers of death off the road.

I don't see the suspicious part. This is totally normal, and the arrest of both occupants of the vehicle is expected.
Additional charges could always be filed against either of them at a later time.
