i was recently involved in a 3 car accident where a truck hit me and ran and i ended up hitting a parked car. at the time i was driving on a suspended license, but i still left my contact information on the parked car's windshield. no one ever contacted me or my insurance company. today i got a letter from the police department saying that they're doing an investigation and that i must appear at the station tomorrow. am i going to jail or will i be arrested for driving on a suspended license? i have insurance on my car and the only reason my license is suspended is because i had a failure to appear that i didnt know about. i really need help and i dont want to go to jail. should i consult an attorney? will this go on my record and affect my chances of getting into nursing school???? please answer me at funkymunky11111@yahoo.com any feedback is greatly appreciated thank you! :(

They are almost certainly NOT going to send you to jail for driving on a suspended license. Hopefully that has been taken care of.

Are they charging you with another crime? Say, hit and run? If so, any idea how they got your info if the owner of the damaged car did not get the note?

The law requires you to make a reasonable effort to contact the owner of a vehicle or other property. Placing your contact and identifying info on the windshield of the other car should be seen as a reasonable effort.
