Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft I need Help!!!!

I was at a store name in chicago and i took $139 worth of merchandise. I was already out the doors when they got me. I went into the back room and i cooperated. I emptied my bag of everything. I told her it was a mistake and that it would never happen again. I wasn't thinking. The cops were called. I was fingerprinted, took a picture and then they sent me on my way. THIS IS A FIRST TIME OFFENSE. I am over the age of 20. I have a court hearing for May. The cops told me it was a misdemeanor. I have no idea what to do now. Everyone that i have talked to says that the most i will get is community service and i'll have to pay the fines.

What should i do? What is the most probable sentence that i will get??? should i bring anything?

i am scared!
 
For your protection the store name was removed from post. You need to start calling Lawyers (many offer free consultations) ask them about diversion as plea option
 
i already talk to someone, they told me to just go in and say that i was sorry and that it would happen again. That all the items were returned and i was extremely cooperative. They also told me to ask what i could do so it doesnt go onto my record. he also mention community service and restitution.
