I was operated on 2 1/2 years ago by a urogynecologist in NJ. After I was sent home I was in intolerable pain. I had my daughter call the dr. and I begged for something for pain relief, but was refused unless I drove the 45 minutes to the dr's office. I could not - by any act of my will - force myself to make the drive. I was forced to self-medicate on neurontin. My right side never healed. I foolishly went back to the same dr. and they advised me the "only" way to treat the pain was with "nerve blocks". I underwent painful injections to my hip and abdomen. After the last one, my husband took me home and I almost passed out in the shower. He had to rush me to the hospital; I had nausea and pain shooting down my groin. The 2 ER doctors questioned me, and advised me to see a lawyer. I went to our family lawyer, who advised us that we have "zero" chance of winning a case against the doctor. He said he would have to import a doctor from out west, and pay him approx. $70,000. to be an expert witness.
I am on opiate painkillers. The nerve blocks did further damage, and I not only have severe hip pain, but pain from the nerve block radiating down my groin. Not wanting to lose the case, my husband and I filed a pro se case, but I am in such bad health that I need a lawyer. How can I find someone to take this case?
