Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft I shoplifted and so worried please no cops involved help me

I shoplifted yesterday at Store name in manhattan. a very stupid mistake, it was a 14 $ head strap and the security caught me. and took my ID and record plus my picture and I paid the fine for it but the cops were not involved then they let me go and told me not to come back again to Store name and I definitely won't .the lady said that it will not be put on my record, is that true? she said that it just goes on the database! i don't know whether it goes only on Store name database or this "national retail theft database" is Store name a member of national retail theft database? is it possible that they report it to cops and they come to my house?I know that it was a very stupid mistake and i am very sorry about that, i feel that i have ruined my life for ever.I had so many plans for my future. the tragic part is that I am an international student and intended to apply for greencard when i get a job in the future. I'm so worried about what happened to me. will this be in my record and get deported or whenever I want to apply for greencard they would deny me for that. please help me I am so down and regretful. please.. any answer will be so appreciated

For your protection the store name was removed from your topic.

If no Police were called then its unlikely any criminal charges will be filed especially over such a small amount. The members of the Retail Theft Database are kept from general public so unless some on ethis sit eknows for sure we couldnt tell what stores are or are not. This will not impact you unless you apply for work at a store who also subscribe to said database

I have another Q,

I am an international student and I will apply for green card sooner or later. what should i answer to that Q regarding being arrested!since it is not in my history can I answer "no"? it is impossible that they accept my greencard application with a shoplifting history. are they going to dig the shoplifting data bases ?
please help me , i am so regretful and desperate about what i have done and so concern about my future and this greencard application process.

It is not likely they subscribe to retail theft database. However your attorney is best to advise you on this
