Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft I stole from my job

I worked for this retail company and I unloaded the truck. It was a really stupid thing to start doing but I started taking iPods from the electronics box each time I ever came across it. I didn't steal everyday but a few months in between and it all started because I had to make child support payments, which left me short. I took about $1200 worth of iPods and was taken into one of the back rooms where I was questioned and confessed since they had information about each time I did anything. I was given a paper to fill out all that I had took and what I did with the items, after that, a cop came and took me to get processed. I was asked to make another statement, which I filled out, got fingerprinted and then released once I was told that I would be contacted if they decided to do anything. Just to get away from the area, I moved a few hours away so I could find another job but haven't had success so far. My ex roommate told me that two warrant notices came in the mail, not actual warrants but a notice and I should contact a bailbondsman. Just recently, I was told that cops have been stopping by asking where I was at but my ex roommate doesn't have my address. I don't know what to do, I do know I need to talk to a attorney but I'm looking for a job to bail myself out and keep working so I can pay for an attorney or restitution. My other course of action once I get a job is to save up and move out of state to be closer to my kids since I moved from them after my divorce but I haven't had any luck so far since my cell got turned off. I'm just a mess and need help.

You need to talk to an Attorney NOW!! If you have any contact with Police for any reason you will be hauled off to jail. Talk to an Attorney an plan your surrender. You also need to plan your defense or plea deal options as your looking at felony charges. You might consider enrolling in an anti theft/shoplifting course before court.

i would like to talk to an attorney and take the course but i dont have a job so im really screwed right now

First off the course is less than the fine you "will" be paying! Second many Attorneys offer free consultations get as many as you can. You have too much to lose here!

As I said, I would love to pay for the course but no job, means no money so until I can find a job, there is nothing I can do till then except stay away from the police

That may not be wise either otherwise any unexpcted contact with Police could be embarassing. As stated many Attorneys offer free consultations get as many as you can arm yourself with knowledge. Your looking at felony charges with potential for prison (not jail) you need sound legal advice. By the way if sent to prison you wont have a job even if you find one likely!

I will consult with attorneys but in the meantime, I must find a job so I can take the course, pay an attorney and/or bail myself out if I need to.

Keep in mind Police can show up at your home, work, school or any random contact with Police and your arrested. Also by ignoring any request by Police to surernder or contact them could add additional charges to the likely felony charges your facing now and will likely result in higher bail

I will keep that in mind and I did move from the county I got in trouble in to another county 3 hours away before they ever started contacting me, which was like a month or two ago

Actually there are quite a few different counties in between but I'm gonna have to take my chances for the moment till I can do something

I know it's a serious matter, I been here for months with no cell or address and a staffing agency that's looking into some jobs for me that didn't do any checks on me since I signed with them before but I just gotta take my chances.
