think I may have accidentally committed fraud. I saw a charge on my account I didn't make and I called the company that made it. They explained what the charge was and I said that I did not make it. They said that I should contact the credit card company If I suspected fraud. After thinking about it I remembered over the summer I busted my little cousin using my card to watch porn online but after seeing it was less than $20 I didn't report it. I called back to asked why the charge was being made and they said that they had already sent my money back, and closed the account and flagged the email that was used. I tried to explain that I would accept the charges I just wanted the account closed and they mention fraud was a felony and restated that the account is closed and my money should be returned. She wouldn't give me any more answers and wouldn't tell me what amount was being refunded. Am I going to get in trouble for this? It was under $20 in the summer and the charge today was for $15

Virtually all crimes require two elements - a guilty frame of mind and a guilty act. Fraud is an act that requires knowledge - intent to deceive. If you made a mistake, it's a mistake - you didn't intend for the outcome to happen. If you realized what happened later and then tried to call back and take corrective measures but was rebuffed by the representative, then you will probably not be charged with fraud. I don't know all the details and cannot give you actual advice. I am just taking a guess based upon your statements here.
