I am a white male that works for a public school system. My employer has an opening for a managerial position that I applied for. Another black employee also applied for the same position in the same manner that I did.
He was later contacted by the HR Dept and coached on how to improve his application. I was not contacted by them however I improved my application in the same manner. He immediately received an interview for the job and I didn't.
The job posting doesn't list any qualifications that an applicant needs, it only lists the job duties. Neither does it state the application process for the job.
I have 25 years of experience, college and extensive specialized training that relates to the posted job. The black applicant has only 5 years of experience, some college and very little specialized training.
The employer did interview a white female and another white male but both have far less qualifications than me.
If an employer can say...Hey I did interview a white candidate(even though it was a lessor qualified white candidate) so I didn't discriminate. Is that legal for them to do????
