I want a divorce,What to do 1st?

My jurisdiction is: TX

I've been thinking about divorcing my husband for a month or so now. I'm a stay at home mother, and I try to talk to him about things that are important but he just calls them dumb and doesn't want to listen to me and doesn't like to give our 2 yr old daughter attention.....and it's not just me that sees it. We live with my parents and they see it as well. And he doesn't work either and my parents are getting tired of him being here. And so am I. What should I do before I call it quits out of the blue. What steps should I take before I tell him I want a divorce? How will I afford to go through a divorce if neither of us works?

Well one or both of you needs to find a job. Your parents sure are nice to let you live there being neither of you works or contributes.

If you want a divorce, you need to start planning. You need to get a job. Ask your parents if they can help out with child care. Start the eviction process to get your husband out. You can call legal aid to see if you qualify otherwise go down to the court and seer about divorcing without an attorney. Many courts offer mediation which is pretty reasonable.

Or if you want to give the marriage one more shot, tell your husband he needs to find a job now. Also living with your parents should not be permanent, why don't you 2 have your own place?
