We are a lesbian couple that has a newborn son in Missouri. He was born in Kansas, since we are in Kansas City, that state line is very close. I was impregnated by an ex-friend that wants us to first of all have a paternity test, then he is also wanting to be a part of the child's life. Little did we know at the time, he has a history of molesting a nephew in his family, he is mentally unstable with some drug use, and is in general unstable. I am the biological mother, a nurse, very good person without any strikes against me. My partner is a good standing citizen also. Can he do anything against us? First of all, do we have to consent to a paternity test? Should we? It is his. obviously.
How would i have him sign his parental rights away if he EVER considered that? I think mainly he is worried we will come someday to get child support.
How can we keep our child away from him legally?

You should have looked into your sperm donor sooner. He has rights (if Father). Yes he can seek an order to establish paternity and you must abide by order. After that support, visitation and custody can be ruled on. with his past the best he could hope for is "supervised vists only"

You really cannot keep him from the child if he persist's and takes you to court. Was he ever convicted of molesting his nephew? These are serious accusations, did the nephew or family ever go to the police? If you wanted a sperm donor, there are others ways to go about it with no involvement from the donor at all. If I wre you I would see an attorney and see about a same sex adoption? I am not sure what the laws in your state say but I would be seeing an attorney if I were you.

Did you notice that he was banned already?

Yes, I made the statement so no one would continue posting in it. Now that my statement was replied to, someone scanning does not realize that and posts, as the previous member did.

I will say it again though...
