Hey everyone, I was wondering if its legal for me to move out of my dads house at 17, and move in with my 20-year old sister.
My reasons for doing so is the emotional (and sometimes physical) abuse my dad bestows apon me on a daily basis. I do know that part of being a teenager is the fights you get in with your parents, but my dad has started to reach new heights with his ways.
The metal abuse is constant, Im told on a daily basis that my dreams are foolish, and that im a failure. As extra "juice", he will take away things I love too do for simple stupid mistakes like 'missing the bus', 'not going to church', ect....
I have been slapped to the point of having a bloody nose, I have been punched, I have been kicked. However, physical abuse has not happened for quite sometime, and he has now focused more on metal abuse because of the threats ive made to call the cops (which in fact he has lied to, when he pushed my sister to the floor and said "she fell", even though she had bruises on her arms from where he grabbed her.)
My mother is diseased, so that is not an option unfortunately, so i wanna move out and live with my 20-year old sister. Is it legal for me to do this?
As well, when/if I move out, what am i allowed to bring with me? Can i bring my computer I purchased with my own money, but he took away (because i missed the bus)? Am I allowed to take cloths he has bought for me?
