I started my job 8 months ago and with little training I did my job to the best that I knew how. A counselor at the time was the coordinator for an event and two days before the event ( 2 months after I started there) she got mad at an email I sent to the employees that were hosting the event. She began to scream at me for not informing her first. The the day of the event she screamed at me for not buying donuts when I had asked her if it was ok to bring something more professional like danishes and muffins, she said for me to get the ok from the dept head and it would be fine.
A few days after the event we spoke with the dept head and spoke about the issues and left it at that. The dept head called me into his office and asked me how things were I said that I was uncomfortable cause she would give me dirty looks and when she was leaving for the day, I would would say bye and she would ignore me. Also that i was bothered that she didn't apologize for screaming at me infront of everyone.
He went and told her and she called me into her office, she bagan her apology with "I didn't apologize cause you didn't apologize" at this point I wasn't sure what I did wrong that i had to apologize, when I had already said that I apologized for the donut confusion in the previous meeting. After her apology 30 seconds went by before I had a chance to say something she started screaming at me asking me why I wasn't going to apologize. I told her I would not speak to her if she was going to be screaming at me and when you was ready to speak to me without raising her voice she could let me know. I walked out of her office and she came storming out behind me yelling at me to go with her to the dept heads office. I ran to the bathroom cause I was so embrassed that she would talk to me that way infront of the TA's and students that were in the office. I later spoke to the Human Resouce director and asked her to make a note of this in my file. Since I had found out after all this that she would be my new boss the following school year I didn't want to make things worse with her otherwise she would make my life impossible. Well last week she screamed at me again and then on Friday I got fired. Human Resources words were "Things are just not working out between you and her". Is there anything I could do. I think it sucks that I get fired after she's verbally harassed me. I don't now if she has a racial thing against me cause from the very start she always treatment me like less of a person.
Please help ASAP. I need to know if there is anything I can do by friday
