If I am not there, can I get a ticket? 55

I rolled a stop sign. I noticed a cop, but he didn't light me up. I pulled into my work and when I came out, I saw the cop and he was standing next to my car. Can he give me a ticket for rolling the stop, even though he never officially pulled me over or contacted me personally?
