Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft If I don't pay civil demand, will criminal charges be filed?

I shoplifted 4 months ago and got a civil demand. The police were not called. I have not been able to pay anything on the civil demand as of yet. How can I find out if this store reports you to the DA if you don't pay the civil demand. I don't eactly feel like calling them up and asking!!

There can be several negative consequences to not paying ing Civil Demand one is they could file the criminal charges they did not at time. The first thing that will happen is fine will go up (likely triple). Its in your best interest to pay this fine or at least make payment arrangements

What if the shoplifter was an 11 year old boy who took a $12 toy car and it was the first time he had done that. The civil demand from the store is $350 and mom is unemployed and dad works part time.

There are no "what ifs" if Civil Demand is sought they may take whatever means the law allows to recover this money. If the subject is a minor then the parents are ones accountable for payment
