Drug Crimes, Substance Abuse Illegal Drug Use

My sister has several prescritions in her best friend's name and I witnessed her taking them. What can I do?

You could call the police. That's about it from a legal standpoint.

How old are the two of you?

I am 46 and she is 52

OK. I didn't know if maybe you two were teenagers or something where you might have a parant to go to.

Calling the police might be about your only option, but even with that, there may not be much they can do, unless she still has the bottle. The only other real option would be some sort of drug rehab, but you would have to either have the police arrest her, and have it court ordered, or have her agree to go.

DON'T CALL THE POLICE!

Talk to your sister, try to get her into rehab or go to Narcotics Anonymous meetings.

If she won't, don't enable her...

Why not the police? I have already called them. She won't answer anyones calls or associate with the family at all. I have tried talking to her but she just yells back at me and tells me that i have no business getting into what she is doing.

She is a Adult if she wants to be a dope addict then she will-- do a intervention if that does not work then let her get high-- it really is her problem -- good times dont last forever. She will eventually get caught and thrown in jail or over dose, but she is a grown woman I am sure she knows her options
