So I was with a few friends at a clothing store called Simons, in Quebec, Canada. I took a pair of jeans worth 95$, and I thought I was safe until the Loss Prevention people told me to go with them. I gave them all my correct info, and then the cops came. They took the information I gave them and called my mom, etc. Right after, they told me my mom could pick me up, but I requested to leave alone as I don't want to face my mom in shame. So they let me go(I didnt' know this was legal...). Also, they filed me a civil suit and banned me frmo their stores. My question is, does this go on my permanent record, and will this prevent me from going to a good cegep(i believe it's called College in America?)?

We deal basically with US law here but your question should have simple answers. If there was no Police involved and you have no pending court date then there should be no record other than with store and any retail theft database they might subscribe to

That is a civil matter and unrelated to any criminal charges you might have. However it is in your best interest to pay this as soon as you can
