Assault & Battery I'm in il. with 3 mis. counts

I was charged with 3 class a misdemeanors of battery, aggravated assault, unlawful use of a weapon-boxcutter. the victim did not go to the hospital bc i would have charged with a felony the cops said. he had a 1" cut or scratch. i got into an argument with a bouncer at a bar and i was drunk, he pushed me then i was banging on the door he came out and i swung the boxcutter at him then i ran. i have had a disorderly conduct that was dismissed in '01 and a dui that i was convicted for in '03 that i completed supervision for. will this be my first offense? i'm adhering to the pretrial, go to school part time, am self employed and a laid off union electrician. what are my chances of a no jail plea? and is this my 1st offense?

This is not your first offense. I'm surprised you got charged with a misdemeanor since you cut the man with a deadly weapon. You have a good chance of doing some jail time, and quite frankly you probably should. First you were CARRYING a weapon (which means you intended to use it if necessary), secondly you attacked a man for doing his job, and third, you did it with a weapon. Count your lucky stars you aren't facing 10-20 years.

Sweat it out.

Next time, don't take a weapon with you, and keep your temper.
