Hi,
My father in law jast returned form US embassy few days ago where he had his Immigrant Visa interview. He was missing the original divorce decree form his previous marrages. The second marriage disolve in 1985 and he optain the original divorce decree form the court. The first marraige ended in 1974 and per court, all records (original) which are more then 30 years old are distroiyed and they are not able to to provide the original divorce decree.
He was told by the consular officer that once he showed them the decrees, they will issue his visa.
Since he is not able to get the divorce papers from 1st marraige, what are his options
Thanks
