My son is in jail in Louisiana. He was arrested on forging bad checks from the girl he was living with who was also his boss. She ended up not pressing charges because she had taken money from his pay without his ok. He had written some bad checks that he had warrants out on and went to court. The judge gave him 3 months and told him he should get out in half that time. His PD told me he should be released already. The bad checks have been paid and he has served more than the 45 days. He is still being held in jail. He does have charges in another parish and is waiting to go there when released. This is also for 2 checks he had written a couple of years ago. The problem I am having is that he calls me every day and asks me if I know what is going on. They told him he does not have a release date when he asked. He had court on 10/1/08 for two checks he had written that were paid off and the PD had the receipt. He couldn't go to court because he was in jail, his PD did not show up to court and there is now an attachment out on him. His PD will not call me back, the DA's office says I have to talk to her, the judge's office clerk thinks he may have to do the full 3 months, but isn't sure, the Clerk of Court does not have any court dates for him and the jail has all these charges on him that were either dropped or taken care of. Who can I call that can give me some information? I'm at the end of my rope.
