Chances are that it will cost you at least 30% to collect on the debt - if the debt can be collected. If you really need the money quickly, your best bet is to sell the debt but it will be for even less money. What's the problem? Enforcement costs money if the debtor doesn't pay up. Is the debtor around? Is the debtor judgment proof - does he/she have assets? How good is the judgment - is it default (and subject to be reopened) or is it after trial?

For such a small judgment amount, you should expect the help to unfortunately wipe away a good amount of that judgment which would also need to be recovered. It's the irony of small claims court which doesn't properly punish one time civil wrongdoers for not complying with the court's orders.
