Hi,

I have been an independent contractor for a consulting company since 1998 along with at least 100 others.

he revamped his site a year ago and got this bright idea to charge us .30 per min per session for every customer that we deal with in live chat to help pay for advertising this site. We all signed contracts to this effect however we had no choice in the matter. We had to sign it or be let go.

At the time I thought it was a good idea, sounded like a good idea. He has collected thousands of dollars from us and we have yet to see signs of advertising. In other words, all the clients I particularly receive are OLD clients before he decided to charge us this fee.

When asked about this he either ignores us or tells us it's none of our business. I asked for copies of invoices proving that he is indeed using the money for advertising purposes but he ignores requests.

the contract states the money is to be used specifically for advertising. We all do not feel he's using this money for advertising and I need to know what our options are if any.

We feel as though we are being ripped off literally.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Consult with an attorney to see how you should proceed when it comes to either getting paid by the company or to recover the moneys you paid for the services of this company. Good Luck!
