My Grandmother died and has left her two surviving sons along with me and my brother in her will. My brother & I would receive our deceased fathers share and be a full 1/3.
Property left was a house on lake front property. Both uncles are saying that we are not entitled to the land or house property because our names are not on the Deed.
One has his name on the house and the other says his is on the land
(a vacant lot next the the house).
I have not seen the Deed. I do have a copy of the Will. The Will does have all of our names spelled out and that the we are all included in the named address of the property.
I have asked if they had to pay inheritance taxes and they said no since they owned it and their names were on the Deeds.
Do my brother and I have any hope of ownership or to receive a 1/3 of the estate?
