A 6ft tall man came up to my car as I was leaving the parking lot and asked me to stop my car. I slightly rolled down the window to see what he needed and he said that I had stole the jacket that was sitting on the passenger side of my seat. He reached in my car trying to take my jacket from me. He then ripped it from my fingers, causing the muscles in my fingers to tear. He then lied and said he was an undercover cop. After that he realized it was my jacket and gave it back. I went to the hospital because I couldn't open my hand all the way and it was hurting really badly. On top of that the hospital charged me a 200$ co pay that I don't have the money to pay for. How should I handle this situation?

You can contact the store Manager or corporate first ask them to repay you for copayment. If they wont (I suspect they wont) you can then talk to a Lawyer. You might also visit the forum site in my signature line. There are people there very familar with what store security can and cannot do.

Thanks but I don't know what kind of lawyer to get. I tryed to get an injury lawyer and they said they don't handle those kinds of problems. Someone else told me to sue for pain and suffering but I don't know how to go about and do any of that stuff.

I'm surprised a Personal Injury attorney told you they didn't handle that sort of stuff. Probably because the injury is small (I know it isn't to you). Get a general practice attorney (not someone who advertises on TV). Check the bar or the yellowpages.
