I am hoping someone can assist me in a little understanding. Ive read alot of threads and have some sort of knowledge but I am not satisifed.

My boyfriend and I have been together for 6 years. He was in the army several years ago and was stationed in Germany. He met a girl and dated her for a while. While he got stationed elsewhere, the girl claimed that he got her pregnant and it was his baby. He at the time did what he felt was right since he was in another country, and gave her his bank account information and she cleaned him out. Obviously not a smart move but its in the past. On and off she has contacted him about this alleged child and he had offered paternity but she refused. She and her daughter are German Citizens. We have no idea if it is his daughter. She looks nothing like him. The daughter is all fair skinned, blue eyes and blonde hair. My boyfriend is Korean. The grandmother is now threating to turn in his dogtags to the military if he doesnt start being a father. Its been over 10 years since this alleged child has been born. What rights does my boyfriend have. Can she pursue this matter if he is no longer with the military and hasnt been for several years? She never made am attempt before, and what little she did do, was just emails occasionally.

I have no idea if his name is on the birth certificate. Can they change it later and add his name to the birth certificate without his permission and without any sort of paternity test?

What exactly can Germany enforce? I just feel that if the child was truely the result of my boyfriend, she would have tried harder and had a test done sooner. Also, where can we get a paternity test done if we live in VA and they live in Germany??

Thanks

Generally the US Office of International Child Support handles coordination of these issue with Hague Convention countries. I believe Germany is one of those. Their web site carries an updated list.

Your boyfriend must speak with an attorney.

I would under NO circumstances give these shysters a dollar.

You have no idea, and maybe he doesn't either about the existence of the child.

There might not be a child, in fact, without a DNA test; how would anyone KNOW that he's a father?

Stop, slow down, speak with an attorney, and most of all; do NOT give these people money UNLESS a court orders it to be done.

Before that would happen, a hearing must take place.

Unless he's a millionaire, these gold diggers aren't going to take this to any court.

If I were your BF, I'd speak to a lawyer, and then let sleeping dogs lie.
