To Whom It May Concern:

I have a concern over a rental contract that I signed abroad. I was living and studying with two roommates in an apartment in Sydney, Australia - when I had to leave early. I was suffering financial difficulty and had to return home to work. The contract wasn't seen all the way through, which was suppose to end on July 10th, 2008. I paid rent up to the first week of June and left May 25th.

Actually, I have a few concerns. What I actually owe, if anything? The difference between Real Estate law in the two different countries (AU v. U.S.), and if that Australian contract will actually carry any weight in the U.S. courts. Because now my roommates want to sue me for breach of contract, deception, fraud, etc. They are convinced that I deceived them and attempted fraud because they found an internet thread of me discussing with a friend that I was coming home early and that they may be liable for the rest of the rent I owe.

Is there any advice you can offer me??
