Got married to a Swedish citizen in USA. He went back to Sweden when I was 5 months pregnant with our child (Oct. 08) Have not heard from him since. Our daughter is now 13 months old. When it comes to childsupport, will it fall under Swedish law or American? I'm a Swedish citizen living here as a permanent resident. I have not received a dime from him for household expenses or for our daughter. Our marriage is not registered in Sweden. Can a judge make him pay for half of house hold expenses, counting from the day he left or at all? How do I file when I don't know where he is? (public background checks are not permitted in sweden) Money is limited.

This will be a very difficult case for you to win.
If you bring child support charges in a US court, you will have a difficult time serving him.
A US court will be unable to assert jurisdiction over a foreign national in another country.
You'd have to return to Sweden and bring your suit in their court system.
I don't think that bum will ever be held accountable for support in a US court for your child.
Sorry....
