Hi, so i got my first run in with the law today and it was taking a few books i'm guessing that would be valued total of 200-250$. I got stopped physically by an employee when i was outside and try to evade by continuing on. I went in a hurry and she yelled out she has my wallet, not knowing how, i returned back trying to achieve it and then this dude comes out of nowhere threatening to mace me. I try to get away from this guy and that was when the cop found me and did his thing. I got a citation, he took my details down and took a photo of me and said i have to ring back the DA since i'm just travelling in the country.
Is there a way to avoid having this on record since i have to make it to canada (i'm not from north america) and their customs laws says that inadmissable people include people who have petty charges including shoplifting.
What are my options?
