Internet photos for a newsletter

I am editor of a newsletter for a non-profit organization. I have found several photos on the internet of a celebrity (singer) who will perform at a fund raiser for our organization.
Is is legal to publish in our organization newsletter the photos from the internet?

Not without a release for publication it is not. Even though they are posted on the internet they are still copyrighted. I would recommend contacting the person who took the photos (if it is listed) to get permission to publish. If their information is not listed then contact the site admin and they should have that information.

I have done what you suggested, got permission from the owner of the photo and all is well.
