I recieved a speeding ticket for going 49 in a 35. I recieved this ticket on June 24, 2006. When i returned home and examined my ticket more closely i realized that the scheduled court date was for May 24, 2006. How do i approach this situation, and is there a possibility that this ticket can be dismissed?

I may be wrong, but I don't think you can get the ticket dismissed based on the incorrect date. It's obviously a mistake/typo/whatever on the officer's part. You should call the courthouse, or visit the Clerk of Courts, to find out your actual court date.

Despite the obvious error on your ticket, I'm sure you'll get in trouble if you fail to appear on your actual court date. Obviously you can argue you didn't know your actual court date, but you can't say you didn't realize it was wrong when it is a month prior to the date the ticket was issued.

Anyway, call the court, give them the other info on your ticket (citation number, whatever), and they'll tell you what your actual court date is. Or just send in the fine, if that's an option for your offense.

Thanks, thats what i figured i had to do. I plan on just paying the fine seeing as it is only a $70 ticket.
