I recently had someone break into my personal email account, not work related. This person emailed a response to someone who had sent me an email. I do not know them personally, never met them and the only way they could have entered my account was by breaking the password of my account. I've contacted the email server and have changed my password.
I am assuming this is a federal offense. What are the laws against this and the consequenses?
