First it's obvious that I made a mistake and now I need to know if there is anything I can do or if this will just be an expensive learning event.
I ran into a childhood friend I hadn't seen in 20 years, spent a month or so getting back in touch and catching up. He asked if I'd be interested investing some money, we sat down and talked about the situation. I wrote a check for 5000.00 which he cashed. We have communicated via email and txt messages where he has said I've made 30,000.00 and that he promises that he is going to pay me as soon as he gets a free second. Now he won't return my calls. Do the text messages and emails show that we had some sort of agreement and he is responsible to pay or am I just out of luck?
