Is a lease with two different rents invalid?

I have taken out a residential lease with one housemate. Our relations have deteriorated, and I would like to break the lease without financial penalty. In preparing the lease, the landlady failed to edit a previous version and listed two different rents ($1250 and 1400). Is the lease invalid, thus defaulting us to month-to-month status? Does the fact that we have paid the higher rent for the last six months have any bearing on this question?

Nice try...but it would appear that the both of you knew what the current rent would be and have been paying it for the past six months.

This does not invalidate the lease and you are financially reponsible for your share until the lease date ends.

Your best bet is to look into the option of requesting if it is possible that you can sublet your part of the lease to another tenant.
