Answering a charge for petite larceny. If store recording can blatantly show that I was only a bystander, in addition to an honest testimony, can I show that I did not commit larceny. I was only there...neither did I have any of the grocery stores missing items in my possession when apprehended by store officials for questioning while awaiting arrest, is there any punishable offense I can face in New York State for just being guilty by association?( A person whom I was with was recorded walking out with 75USD worth of food.)

If you had knowledge of the theft or even the intent to steal you can be held accountable.
If you honestly had no knowledge whatsoever of the theft it is the prosecutor's burden to prove that you did.
