My jurisdiction is: CA

In Ca the Statue of limitation is 4yrs for open credit card account. I being Customer since 1989, in debt for the last 7-8yrs with them, for the last few years trying just to pay off debt only without using credit card. I have a very high score (I don't need the high score for anything myself for many years).

It is a Extortion, and/or Break of Contract ?

on a promotional fixed rate offer to you about 5-7 yrs ago at 3.9% fixed til is pay off.

Now it is 7.9% without giving me any option than to pay off now or accept this rate.. then after 2yrs if still owe will go higher than 7.9% . They manupulated me saying I was on of the few accounts selected (like if they were making me a favor) without giving any choice than to agree. I don't have the money to pay off debt at once.

I had spoke with them not just CRep even supervisor wast of time. I could complaint with BBB but might not work just will be a record of complaint.

Some of us in the USA have same problem with Chase Co.
giving us headaches, emotional draing, less sleep at night, anxieties, worries that your payment is less to your debt and more to your intrestes (profit for them) that you eventually will pay them double or you already did.

Could this be a possible Class Act Lawsuit?

Any suggestions, directions or Help in any way appreciated.
Thanks

I received a notice too from my bank on a rate increase. I have perfect credit. There was an option to reject this increase which is what I did. This does not affect my promotional 0% rate which expires in Oct. when you reject it you do cannot use the card anymore but you can at least pay off the balance at the lower rate.

Also, if you have good credit there are lots of offers in the mail for 0%. I get offers for no annual fee, but there usually is a balance transfer fee of anywhere from 0-3%. Can you just transfer the balance to another card that might have a promo rate on it?
