This is odd. Intellectually I recognize that there were toilet facilities (latrines they're called) and I know I must have performed my bodily functions during my time in service but the only image that my mind conjures up is this:

If taking a dump is a recruit's biggest concern in boot camp we are doomed. I bet their second biggest worry is that the drill instructor might say mean things to them.
