We are a one car family where 3 members work different hours. I have two daughters that work for Burger King, one opens and goes in at 6am the other one closes and generally goes in at 6 or 7 pm. The one that closes takes her sister to work and waits at Burger King (which is located inside a casino) till i get off work which is 8am so we may head home. We have done this for over a year now, but all of a sudden (as of this morning) it has become an issue with one manager of Burger King. She states my daughter is not allowed to sit at Burger King and wait till i get off work and therefore asked her to leave. According to her it is stated in the Employees handbook. I have read the handbook and it states the following: Burger King discourages all kinds of loitering. This pertains to employees, friends and relatives. You should not loiter in and around your restaurant when you are not on duty. The same holds true for your friends and relatives while you are on duty.
Now my question is, was this manager in the right to ask my daughter to leave? Like i said we have done this same routine for over a year now, but since this manager's work ethics have been placed in question by one of my daughter's with the store district manager, it has now become an issue. Any help with this question will be greatly appreciated.
