I just received a settlement for my claim which my attorney said was not a law suite, and he also said that the settlement is for future medical issues which may arise.
My soon to be ex wife is trying to get half of it. The comp claim was in PA but we lived in NJ. While we were together she was living off my comp pay which was my wages based on comp law. There is no pain and suffering in comp. My attorney said that she could not touch it.But now I have to go before a hearing in divorce and my divorce attoeney feels the same way. What are your thoughts.
Thank you
Mr. X

I'd attend the hearing, allow my attorney to represent me, and the judge will decide.
Soliciting the opinions of people unfamiliar with your case isn't very helpful or productive.
Listen to those you're PAYING to represent you.

Any time you have a lawyer you want to work with them & ask them your questions. They know more about your case than we do.
