Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft is this legal

me and my husband was sitting in my husbands truck in the drive way of a friends house waiting for our friend to return . a vehicle pulled up behind us which turned out to be the sherriffs department. needless to say they advised me that my husband was beeing arrested on a warrant for cattle theft. my drivers license is good and we had insurance on the truck, but they said they had to tow the vehicle. is this legal. then they didnt have it towed they had a officer drive it too the inpound yard.

It may be possible the vehicle was impounded as evidence if your husband had used it in the commission of the aledged cattle theft. Otherwise, yes you should have been allowed to drive it home yourself.
