I just got a letter from SC Services and Associates, INC., they tell me that they have been hired by Monroe County Probate Court. I'll put the letter here and then any comments on the Staute of limitations concerning this matter and any feedback on "SC Services and Associates, INC." would be very appreciated!!!
Dear Sir/Madam,
Our firm has been hired to represent Monroe County Probate Court. Court records indicate that there is a outstanding case pending against you in the County Court in and for Monroe
County, Georgia for the unpaid traffic citation listed below.
Case Number - 28937
Date - 01/08/1983 (I got the ticket in the summer of '77)
Total Due - $85.00
Still Owed - $85.00
Offense Discription - Speeding
You have an outstanding civil traffic violation for failing to pay your fine in the time allowed. Failure to satisfy this outstanding debt will cause your license to be suspended with the State of Georgia Department of Motor Vehicle Safety. In the event your license was issued in a State other than Georgia, this information will be shared and will
(could) result in suspension and may adversely affect your credit report
Your time to request a hearing on this matter has expired.
It seems that Georgia has aready reset the clock at the six year point, but it seems to appear that from 01/08/1983 to 05/09/2006 would be over 23 years. Isn't that past the SoL of Georgia for civil traffic tickets?
I look forward to the responses to this thread and thank you for participating...
