Is this retainer too good to be true guys? Can you spot what the catch is?

The lawyer says that I can pay him only what I can but he is not working pro bono. What's the catch? Please see attached file.

Agree with the prior response, but it looks (based on my VERY cursory skimming of the contract) that this is intended to be a class action or something similar (or whatever the Canadian equivalent is). If that's right, then the firm would probably be paid as part of any settlement.
