I'm wondering if I get married will my wife be responsible for my student loans should I die? The loans are a few years old, taken before ever meeting her and she hasn't signed any papers dealing with them.
I appreciate the answers.

Thanks for your answer. I feel a little better, need a little more to comfort her. Do you know where, if anywhere, I'd be able to show her that in print? Would it be in a Federal Law book or state?
It should be in your loan agreement somewhere that when you die the debt is gone (not in those words). Also you can contact the loan agency and ask them directly. Upon your death your wife would have to send a death certificate to the loan agency.
