Hi, my husband and I moved our family into our current home in May of 2007, before that my father lived here, I also lived here growing up until I was married. On Thanksgiving of 2004, our house caught fire because of the old wall heaters. When the fire dept. came to put out the fire, they found it necessary to bust out the front windows and extinguish the fire. The then landlord, has past away and never did replace the windows. When he died, he left his estates to his son, who also owns a local hardware and lumber store. Like I said, my father moved out and we moved in, we've asked repeatedly for the landlord to come or send someone out to replace the windows and he has repeatedly blown us off. Isn't he responsible for that, seems that replacing a three-unit front window would be classified as an emergency or at least top priority. What should be our plan of action. Is there anything legal that we can show him to give him some motivation. We can't really afford to move right now and the high today as 54F degrees. We stuggled to keep it warm last year, with God's help, somehow our gas bill didn't go above $7. Thank God. This Thanksgiiving will make it four years and the windows still have not been replaced. If you have any advice you can spare. Please help. Thanks, Heather.
