Hello,
I am a registered dental hygienist in the state of michigan and have worked for a particular company since june. I started off assisting then they had me working as a dental hygienist in several offices. The main office that I work in is very hectic and stressful. They let one of the dental hygienists go last august, and proceeded to let another go the following november that was full time.
Two weeks ago I was offered a position there for 2 days a week and every other saturday by the office manager. I told her I would gladly accept. One week goes by and the following monday she calls me into the Dr's office and says "I'm so sorry I messed up. Unfortunately I cannot give you this position because of legal issues. We have to bring ****** back because technically we laid her off and we had to offer her her job back."
So, the hygienist is being offered her job back, but not quite. She still lost her benefits because she is part time. And I was offered a job and had it taken away. This was the same company that had me working full time and had me in the system as a "temp" for 5 months and refused to offer me insurance though it was offered to everyone else.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
