Judgement on credit

A former landlord filed a suit against my husband for past due amount owed. I recently checked my credit report and discovered the judgement placed on my credit although I wasn't involved in the legal process. Is this legal? If not what can I do? We live in Illinois

Contact the credit reporting agencies and report the error. However if you two were married at time that might explain it
