There is a judgement on my credit report that will be removed August 2005. The account has been purchased by a collection agency and I have already paid them a total of $600 towards the account. Upon learning that the judgment would be removed from my credit report I stopped paying the agency.

Can the agency take me to court for the same account?
Can the same account be put back on my credit report even though its under the collection agency?
Am I obligated to pay the agency since they purchased the account?

The agency just contacted me this year about this account, please advise.

Thanks!

If you owe the debt, you owe the debt. The judgment that has been purchased entitles the collector to collect from you as if he/she were the actual creditor. There is no need for them to go to court against you since there already is a judgment entered on this matter. How do you know that this judgment will be removed from your credit report?
